General Manager, L. Everette Martin presents cheque to   Health Planner, Mrs. Nicole Slack-Liburd

The Bank of Nevis Ltd once again lived up to its motto of “Improving the Quality of Life” when it made a substantial donation of EC$15,000 to the Ministry of Health.  This donation will assist the Alexandra Hospital in purchasing a new ultra-sound machine.

 

During the brief handing over ceremony which was held at the Alexandra Hospital Conference Room on Friday May 29^th, 2009, General Manager of the Bank, Mr. L. Everette Martin said that the Bank was committed to improving the quality of life for the people of Nevis. He said that the Bank remained committed to ensuring a healthier nation. 

 

Recognizing that the ultrasound machine is a critical piece of equipment needed by the hospital, the Bank did not hesitate in agreeing to make the donation having been approached by the Ministry of Health.

 

Just before presenting the cheque to Mrs. Nicole Slack-Liburd–Health Planner in the Ministry of Health, Mr. Martin further declared that it was not the first time that the Bank of Nevis was donating to the hospital, having previously presented EC$19,000 for the purchase of office equipment in 2007. He assured the Ministry of the Bank’s commitment to making future donations. 

 

In accepting the cheque on behalf of the Ministry of Health, Mrs. Slack-Liburd said that the Ministry and the Hospital were grateful for the donation. She explained that the new ultrasound machine would enable the Hospital to resume diagnostic services and generally provide better health care to the Nevisian populace.
