Sports Officer and Former West Indies Player, Carl Tuckett accepting sponsorship cheque from Marketing Officer, Bronte Swanston-Hendrickson

The third Annual Bank of Nevis Limited Summer Cricket Coaching Clinic is set to begin on Monday July 12^th, 2010. This was proudly confirmed today when Marketing Officer, Mrs. Bronte Swanston-Hendrickson handed over a sponsorship cheque to former West Indies player and Sports Officer in the Ministry of Sports, Mr. Carl Tuckett during a brief ceremony held on Wednesday, July 7^th 2010 in the Bank’s board room.

 

In presenting the sponsorship cheque Mrs. Swanston-Hendrickson told Mr. Tuckett that the Bank was delighted to partner with him for yet a third consecutive year. She said that the Bank was satisfied that the Clinic was achieving its objectives of imparting to the youngsters the fundamental skills of cricket. The Marketing Officer was also happy to note that the Bank’s sponsorship or rather its investment in the Clinic was already reaping dividends since the Nevis Under 13 team of last year 2009 had been selected from youngsters who had benefitted from the Clinic.  

 

In accepting the sponsorship cheque, Mr. Tuckett praised the Bank for its continued support despite the ongoing recession.  He expressed appreciation to the directors and management of the Bank for agreeing to sponsor the Clinic for a third consecutive year and promised that the Clinic would again seek to provide holistic development for the participants by including devotions, review of daily activities as well as motivational and educational sessions on various topics.   He said that the participants would be taught the fundamentals of batting, bowling, fielding, catching and wicket-keeping. He also announced that the Clinic would climax with actual matches played within the various age groups.

 

The Bank of Nevis Limited Summer Cricket Coaching Clinic which is open to children age 6 – 13 is scheduled to run from July 12^th – 23^rd, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily.
