Following the news of the catastrophic 7.0 magnitude earthquake that devastated Haiti on Tuesday January 12, 2010, The Bank of Nevis Limited announced in a press release on January 29, 2010, that it had established an account to accept donations from the general public to assist the victims and relief effort underway.

 

Customers and concerned individuals visited the Bank and made donations to the account. Subsequently, the account was closed and the funds were remitted directly to the International Federation of Red Cross Crescent Societies.

 

The Bank of Nevis Limited was pleased to assist with the Haiti relief effort and thanks those persons who responded to the appeal with their generous contributions.

 

The Bank is grateful to the Mr. Spencer Hanley, President of The Nevis Red Cross Society for his assistance in providing the relevant information which helped with the smooth transfer of funds to the International Federation of Red Cross Crescent Societies.  

The directors, management and staff of the Bank are also hopeful that life in Haiti will return to a state of normalcy soon.
