The Board of Directors of The Bank of Nevis Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. L. Everette Martin as General Manager of the Bank and its subsidiaries, including Bank of Nevis International Ltd, effective 16 May 2008. 

Mr. Martin, who is a Nevisian, has had a successful sixteen year career at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank where he held various positions including his last position as Director of the Bank Supervision Department. He brings to the position, strong leadership and management capabilities and a wealth of knowledge, training and experience in banking and supervision, international banking services and capital market development and supervision.

He holds a Master of Science Degree in International Banking and Financial Studies from the University of Southampton, England and Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Finance and Accounting from the University of the Virgin Islands , where he graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Upon accepting the position, Mr. Martin commented, "I am excited to have been given the opportunity to join the management team at The Bank of Nevis. The Bank is at a watershed in its development and is well positioned for increased growth. I look forward to returning to the Nevisian community and continuing the excellent efforts of the Bank in enhancing the lives of the people of the Federation."

Mr. Martin, who is married with one child, takes over from Mr. Hanzel Manners who has been Acting General Manager since December 2007. Mr. Manners is scheduled to retire later this year.
